Abian Belharra Deck Features & Benefits

The Surfskate Love Abian Belharra is a high-performance surfskate deck with medium concave. It measures 32” long, 9.6” wide, and has an 18” wheelbase. It’s suitable for riders with a stance width of between 16” and 19”, as measured between your inner feet in your natural riding stance.

The front foot pocket is designed for your foot to sit perfectly behind the inner bolt holes. The medium concave is high enough to lock your feet in for snaps, slides, and bowl riding, but mellow enough to be comfortable for riding for a long time and for long distances.

The wide tail makes input from your back foot very responsive and allows you to pump more effortlessly and drive hard through tight carving.

The high torsional flex makes the board twist and turn intuitively with your every movement. It helps to pump faster by giving additional rebound. It generates speed and enables smoother, more dynamic turn initiation. It also helps to control the board better for snaps and slides.

The torsional flex also gives you slightly independence between front and rear lean. Most surfskate trucks do not have a balanced front and rear lean. The front truck is built for deep lean. The rear truck is typically a standard TKP truck with a high riser, which is not built for such deep lean. So when you fully lean, you can lose contact with the ground on one back wheel, resulting in a loss of traction and stability.

With torsional flex, you're able to have the full deep lean on the front, with a variable rear lean. You can control how much pressure you add to your rear foot to have the most controlled slides. This happens fully intuitively. No torsional stiff board will give you this function!

The Belharra is made with six inner layers are made of Baltic and European birch. The top and bottom of the Belharra are made with smoked eucalyptus wood. The clear strip in the middle is maple wood.

About Abian Skateboards

Handcrafted in the Basque country of Spain, Abian surfskate decks are built to be unique, 100% sustainable, and with a retro-Californian surfer style. They contain no synthetic materials; the glues and varnishes used are acrylic-based and solvent-free.

The woods come from certified sustainable forests. The six inner layers are made of Baltic and European birch, seeking the closest proximity possible. The top and bottom layers are created with different wood species.

The logos are individually hand-burned with a stamp and cut. Even the griptape is handcrafted, using a mixture of varnish and silica sand. Abian decks receive three layers of durable varnish on top and bottom, applied with a roller for added protection and durability.
